The Cupertino giant announced the arrival of updated Mac mini 2020 at the end of the company’s press release for the new MacBook Air 2020. The $799 base configuration now comes standard with 256GB of storage, while the $1,099 configuration features 512GB of storage. “Whether they are using it as a desktop computer, a music and movie storage hub for the family, or as a code compile server for Xcode, customers love Mac mini. The standard configurations of Mac mini now come with double the storage capacity. The $799 configuration now comes standard with 256GB, while the $1,099 configuration features 512GB of storage, and every Mac mini is made from 100 percent recycled aluminum.”

The $999 Mac mini configuration features a 3.6GHz quad-core 8th-generation Intel Core i3 processor, 8GB of 2666MHz DDR4 memory, Intel UHD Graphics 630, and 256GB PCIe-based SSD storage. The SSD can be upgraded to 512GB, 1TB or 2TB for an additional $200, $400 and $600 respectively.  On the other hand, the $1,099 Mac mini configuration comes with 3.0GHz 6-core 8th-generation Intel Core i5 processor, Turbo Boost up to 4.1GHz, 8GB 2666MHz DDR4 memory, Intel UHD Graphics 630, and 512GB PCIe-based SSD storage. The SSD can be upgraded to 1TB or 2TB for an additional $200 and $600 respectively. 

Besides the above features, both the revamped Apple Mac mini systems will have an aluminum unibody design and measure 7.4 x 7.4 x 1.4 in. Also, it will have four Thunderbolt 3 ports, two USB 3.0 connections, and a single HDMI output. The new updated Mac mini is now available for purchase on apple.com. Apple Store Pickup is currently unavailable in response to the coronavirus.
